The project was created on the basis of materials of legendary expeditions, conducted in XIX century by scientist and traveler N.N. Miklouho-Maclay on the New Guinea Island, as well as modern research expeditions studying the same region, held in late XX – early XXI centuries, and is timed to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the outstanding Russian traveler.
