On October 25, VI Kruzenshtern readings were held in the Central Naval Library with participation of the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation.

During the scientific conference Nickolay Miklouho-Maclay, the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation Director, a descendant and full namesake of the Great traveler, presented the educational project “Russia and Oceania (XIX-XXI centuries)” organized by the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation. Also, the participants of the readings were shown a documentary film “The Man from the Moon” (36 minutes), telling about the era of the great and dangerous journeys of the XIX century, about the amazing discoveries of Miklouho-Maclay in New Guinea, his life in Russia and Australia, about the legacy he left as an ethnographer and anthropologist. After the official part of the event, the Library staff guided a fascinating tour, and Nickolay Nikolaevich, in his turn, presented his popular science publication “Journey to the Maclay Coast”, which replenished the book collection of the Central Naval Library.
